Keeping Students Safe in a Digital World: Engaging in Cyberspace Virtual Workshops for Families
Guilford Parent Academy partners with GCS Technology Services to provide cyberspace safety trainings for families. These workshops will help parents and caregivers identify and understand how students communicate and engage in the virtual world. Attend these sessions and use new cyberspace knowledge in real-life applications. Each session will be offered at 12:00 and 6:00 pm.

November 9 – More Than a Hashtag: Keeping My Child Safe on Social Media
We will discuss social media basics for elementary, middle, and high school students and provide tips for parents whose children are using social media or are considering letting their children use social media.

November 16 – Safe Surfing: Helping Students Stay Safe on the Web
We will provide information about what GCS is doing to protect our students who are using GCS devices. We will also extend parents' knowledge by identifying practices to best protect their children when using personal devices.

January 25 – The Digital World of Cyberbullying
Learn about cyberbullying and digital harassment, provide information about the preventative measures GCS is taking, how parents can support those preventative measures at home, and steps parents can take in the event their child experiences cyberbullying.
